MassArt Student Wins International Design PrizeCongratulations to Graphic Design student Andrew Medeiros on winning first prize in Cat. D in the Bolivian Poster Biennial. Every year, Professor Elizabeth Resnick gives an assignment to her Graphic Design 1 class to design posters for a biennial poster competition.

MDes integrates deep expertise in design practice with business discipline in a broad-based curriculum that uses market challenges and social initiatives as the context for learning.
New City Artist-in-Residence Program to Host Eleven
New City Artist-in-Residence Program to Host ElevenAs part of Boston Creates, an ongoing effort to strengthen Boston’s creative capital and create a culturally vibrant and inclusive community, Boston Mayor Martin Walsh’s Office of Arts and Culture and Massachusetts College of Art and Design have unveiled a new city artist-in-residence program. From a pool of 100 submissions, 11 artists have been selected as the first artists in the program, including MassArt alumni and faculty.

2015 MassArt Made Holiday Sale
The MassArt Made Holiday Sale will be held Sunday, December 6 through Saturday, December 12, 2015 from 10am - 7pm in the lobby of the Tower Building at 621 Huntington Ave, Boston MA 02115. This sale is a great opportunity to purchase unique, quality artwork created by MassArt students and alumni. Handmade items range from hand-blown glass, ceramics, paintings to jewelry and more. Distinguished Alumni Awards 2015

On Friday, November 6th, the Massachusetts College of Art and Design community proudly recognized the outstanding accomplishments of this year’s distinguished alumni awards honorees at the 2015 Alumni Awards.  The event began with a preview of an exhibition of the honorees’ work in the President’s Gallery, 11th floor, Tower Building. The exhibition is on view through December 1, 2015. Then guests gathered for a cocktail reception and an additional pop-up exhibition of the honorees work in the Godine Gallery, followed by the dinner and awards presentation in the Pozen Center for Interrelated Media.

Interim President Ken Strickland welcomed guests and presented the awards to this year’s recipients, including Lou Genatossio ’81 (Industrial Design), The Graphic Workshop artists collective, Sheila Pepe ’83 (Ceramics), and Luther Price ’87  (Sculpture and Media & Performing Arts).
